At Long’s, fluffy custard buns, eggy sponge cakes, baked BBQ buns and slices of lemon cake can all be found for around $1 apiece, plus year-round mooncakes in the $4 to $7 range. There’s not a focus on large and artful cakes or fancy pastries here, but the no-frills bakery offers mooncakes filled with lotus seed, black bean, wintermelon and taro and your choice of one or two egg yolks.
