Mercado

With its newest location on 3rd Street, Mercado is bringing an inventive mix of food, atmosphere and tradition to the Beverly Grove neighborhood. The second restaurant for partners Jesse Gomez and chef Jose Acevedo, this location offers a covered patio space and an open air bar—perfect for relaxing with a margarita and taquitos, or indulging in their popular brunch (helloooo Chipotle Bloody Marys). Take in the colorful artwork, the relaxed atmosphere and, yes, the tequila, and it's like your own private Mexico.

Mercado is definitely pricey, but it really is an excellent meal. The set up and ambience is really cozy and inviting, a great place for a meal with friends. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes, but in particular the spicy margaritas and the guacamole are top notch.

I am obsessed with the spicy margaritas they serve here, always so delicious! I love that one of the walls is open to the street so you feel like you are outside. There is also a cute fireplace in the back which give the restaurant a cozy feeling. I love coming back here for the drinks, guac and the staff is always very nice! Great neighborhood restaurant in mid-city.
