Visit Mexicano and allow James Beard-nominated chefs Jaime Martin Del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu to tempt you with the complexities of authentic Mexican cuisine. Exploring the depths of regional flavors and heirloom family recipes, these two stars of the Mexican food world turn out mouth-watering lunch and dinner creations. The lunch special menu features dishes such as 7 chiles fish fillet and cochinita pibil, which is pork shoulder marinated and braised in achiote and spices. The dinner menu at Mexicano features a variety of pork, beef, chicken and seafood dishes, as well as enchiladas. The poblano mole, a delicious extravaganza of 46 ingredients, is not be missed. The chefs' specialty, served only on Friday through Sunday, is the chiles en nogada, a poblano chile stuffed with ground pork, dried fruits, walnuts, candied cactus and topped with pecan sauce and pomegranate.

Mexicano has great food BUT, if you're looking for a cantina style restaurant or want tacos consider yourself warned--this may be a let down and you won't find the down home Tex-Mex that we all know and love. Mexicano's menu is the real deal so I don't feel stupid for paying $30 a dish like I do at other "elevated" Mexican food restaurants. It's a nice place but it doesn't feel over styled or pretentious because the quality of the cuisine is solid. Two thumbs up.
