This vegan café has become an LA staple thanks to its healthy food, fast service and prices that won't break a budget. Creative dishes like the Rockin' Moroccan, Bangkok Curry and Greek Gyro Bowl allow diners to explore culturally diverse cuisines (some are even gluten-free!), while more traditional orders—the Super Italian Meatball Sub with seitan meatballs, for instance—are constant crowd pleasers. Native Foods has a beer and wine license, so you can pair your salad with a glass of chardonnay for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Native Foods Café is a nice option if you are looking for a change from the usual Veggie Grill (while appealing in its own right). Its menu items are pretty affordable ($12 average) for a bowl or sandwich. You typically order at the counter and they bring your food to you.

I usually get one of the Earth bowls like the “Ghandi” which has quinoa, meat alternatives – in this case grilled tempeh, vegetables and curry sauce. They also have a good selection of flavored iced teas that you can get refills on.

The one thing about their food sources – they say they use non-GMO whenever possible, but who really knows what that means (how often they actually do).  It’s a fast meal for lunch by yourself or with friends where you don’t have to be waited on but can just hang out or casually read a book or the paper if you’d like.
