Time Out says

On May 15, 1946, Tommy Koulax opened the doors to the Original Tommy's Hamburger on the corner of Beverly and Rampart Blvd. 70 years later, the chain has 32 locations and is considered to have one of the best chili cheeseburgers of all time. To celebrate seven decades of becoming an LA icon, Tommy's is throwing a massive anniversary party with a special deal to thank Angelenos for their patronage: an Original Tommy’s Chiliburger and a can of soda for only 70 cents. Festivities begin at 10:45am with comments by Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez and Councilmember Mitch O’ Farrell. The USC Trojan Marching Band will perform at noon to kick off the 70-cent deal, and the party continues until midnight with more live music, prizes, and entertainment. This memorable deal and party will only be at the original walk-up shack, and the Koulax family will be in attendance, so join them to celebrate this piece of LA history.
