Time Out says

L.A. is home to some of the world's most beloved settings—sandy beaches, palm-lined streets and the Hollywood Sign among them—but Angelenos know that some of our most hidden, scenic vistas come by way of an almost secret, overlooked gem that runs through the city.

There's a lot to love about the Los Angeles River, especially in the warmer months, when you can kayak through its tree-dotted banks, and on Tuesday you can go waterside with an alfresco dinner overlooking the landmark.

Thanks to roving supper series Outstanding in the Field, you’ll learn the history of the watershed and its revival as you sip cocktails, then feast on a four-course, family-style meal from Redbird’s Neal Fraser, the Strand House’s Austin Cobb and Alimento’s Zach Pollack. Tickets to this dinner cost $265 per person and a portion of the proceeds benefit the River L.A. itself—so you can enjoy one of our city's best landmarks all while helping to preserve it.
