Time Out says

Papa Cristo's sits in the shadow of the Greek Orthodox cathedral in Mid-City, a restaurant, market and bakery that has been serving the Greek community for more than 60 years. Pita pizzas, sandwiches and plates piled high with lamb, fish and chicken populate the menu, along with to-die-for baklava. Consider stopping by on a Thursday, when the restaurant offers complete family-style dinners with wine-tastings and entertainment for $25 per person.

For some reason Papa Cristo’s is to my go-to place before a game at Staples Center. The restaurants in downtown are overpriced and Papa Cristo’s is a slight detour off the freeway for me but who cares. I will come again and again for the gyro meat. Their gyros (either wrap or plate or on a salad) are so good. And they give a good amount! You’re looking at almost $20 for a plate so it isn’t inexpensive, but they do have an informal dining room that you can sit down in where you don’t necessarily need to pay for service. Make sure to also get the loyalty punch card if you can see yourself coming back.

While you wait for your food it’s fun to browse the deli and check out all the baklavah. Limited parking in the back.
