Republic of Pie
Time Out says
Republic of Pie looks more like a homey living room than a coffee shop, but that doesn't mean their menu is something you could whip up in your kitchen. Beautiful (and indulgent) pies are made fresh daily—dare we say they are some of the best desserts in the Valley. If you're craving something sweet, go for the chocolate banana bread pudding pie, the cookies n' cream, or the coconut cream pie. Wanting something more savory? Their mac & cheese pot pie is crazy good, as is their ham & swiss quiche. As for the drinks, a long list of coffee and tea is written out on a blackboard, boasting items like the NoHo cold brew and a refreshing white tip jasmine tea. Stick around until 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends, when open mic sessions start and local musicians practice their craft infront of a crowd of Valley residents strewn across lovingly-worn couches.

Super cozy and comfortable and inviting. This is a great place to do anything from meet up with friends to catch up or relax and get work done. The pies are excellent and the staff is always incredibly nice. Definitely a place I'd recommend in the area.
At first glance Republic of Pie is just your average hip coffee shop where you'll find people writing their Sci-Fi Western screenplay and eating a slice of cherry pie. However, RoP also offers a strong house brewed coffee as well as fresh breakfast and lunch options. I highly recommend their chicken pesto sandwich for lunch and their hardy egg bagel for breakfast. So grab a nice black coffee, a slice of sweet or savory pie, and write that Sci-Fi Western at RoP.
Awesome pie, great tea selection, decent food options. Open-mic is cute a well. Just wish they had more outlets so I could hang out longer.
Republic of Pie is my go-to coffee shop when I'm in North Hollywood. They have a killer selection of tea and coffee, but their pies are the main event; I almost always get the chocolate banana cream pie. It can get pretty crowded, but snag one of the couches if you can - they're super comfy. I've been here when they feature live music, and it's always a supportive and enthusiastic crowd.
