Rose Café has been serving the Venice community since 1979, and after a brief revamp, it has reopened with chef Jason Neroni at the helm. Neroni's menu focuses on local Southern California cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner: pumpkin pancakes, breakfast burritos and juice shots, along with lamb shwarma pizza, ricotta gnocchi and patty melts.

The Rose Cafe is a really great restaurant. It's gorgeous, has amazing staff and the food is DELICIOUS. It's very busy on weekend nights- so make a reservation early if you plan to sit in the main dining room. If you can't get in, sitting in the open seating patio isn't terrible but the menu is different so if you're one of those people who fall in love with meals online before you go- look at both menus. Our waitress was so sweet, like almost too sweet for LA- it was refreshing. Bills can get pricey fast but for a weekend dinner, worth it.

I like this place for a quick, light lunch or coffee meeting. The open air and different sections of the restaurant make it a diverse meeting place (individual tables, long wooden tables for people to work on their laptop, etc) so it’s a café + restaurant under one roof.

During the day the natural lighting is really nice. Inside is quite spacious and there is even a patio outside, which is nice for when the weather is warmer. It’s not in the heart of Venice/Santa Monica, so it’s not as stressful trying to find parking.

There is not metered parking on the side streets surrounding the restaurant.
