Opened in 2012, Sal's Gumbo Shack channels your mom's cooking straight from the kitchen—you know, if your mom was really, really good at making Louisiana fare. Regulars here rave about the gumbo, a hearty broth filled with chicken, sausages, shrimp and crab legs over rice, as well as the addictive jambalaya and hefty po'boys. End your meal with a slice of peach cobbler and you're golden.

Never had gumbo like this before I drive from the OC to eat here often bringing in friends and family.
The hospitality is great and I love the owner she is quite charming and very accommodating.
This place is a gem.
Everything there is made with love. Eating at Sals is like going to your grandmother house getting a home cook meal. My favorite right now is the Turkey Chop but the Gumbo is good too.
Great food friendly people, Not just the owner Sally but her staff has always welcomed their customers with a smile. What can I say so many business are lacking in customer service, keep up the good work Sal's! Best gumbo and poboy's this side of the Mississippi!
