STK is located inside the W hotel to the left side as soon as you walk into the lobby. There is valet parking located right out the front of the W which makes it very convenient. The hostess and staff are very friendly and provided great service. There was a DJ that Thursday night being that it was the 1 year anniversary event which I enjoyed because I had never been to a restaurant where a DJ was present. It had definitely made the night more festive but if you were looking for more of an intimate and romantic night make sure to go on a night without any events happening.
The interior of the restaurant has an urban feel with one main bars inside the restaurant and one small bar to the lounge area of the restaurant. I suggest to ask for the booths or the middle tables and not the tables by the bar, with the foot traffic of people walking in and out may leave you feeling with a slight discomfort. I loved the outdoor patio section of the restaurant, the ambience is intimate with a garden feel. There is also a separate bar located outside.
As I had only tried the appetizers that evening the most remarkable was the tuna tartare and truffle fries. The tuna tartare is best eaten mixed with the avocado and sauce it comes with it which contains a slight spicy kick in the after taste. If you are a fan of tuna you will love it. The truffle fries was unlike any other truffle fries I have had. The size of each fry is bigger than average, but that may be why I couldn't taste too much of the truffle since there was more potato in each bite. As for beverages, I had a chardonnay house wine which was good, if you like wines that are drier you would like their chardonnay; overall it was a decent experience.
