With locations all over town, Kazunori Nozawa's mini-empire favors straightforward, no-nonsense sushi over the usual 'Dragon' and 'Rainbow' rolls—as exemplified by Noawa's trademark "Trust Me" menu, which decides diners' sushi dishes for them. The confidence of the kitchen goes even further, in that servers will respectfully decline requests for extra soy sauce or bowls of rice. Don't worry—you won't need either. The sushi is outstanding enough on its own.

I love this place. Sure, it's not quite as inventive as some other sushi spots, and you can't get omakase, and it's pretty pricy. But the fish is so good, and you always know you're going to get a high-quality and filling meal. I usually order the Trust Me or Trust Me Lite, and I always think I'll get bored eating the same meal in the same order every time I go, but honestly I just find myself craving it on the regular.

Sugarfish is one of the best things that's happened to LA, seriously. You can come here on a date, for a quick lunch, or even post-workout meal while sitting at the bar in your yoga pants. The service is always wonderful and food is delicious, no matter the location. I like to come to the La Brea one because it doesn't get as packed as the others.

My go to sushi place ALWAYS.  I always get the trust me with a side of bay scallops which is probably my favorite piece of sushi there.  I always call to make sure how long the wait is.  The sushi is always of high quality and for the price you just can't beat Sugarfish.
