Lobster corn dogs at The Lobster
Photograph: Stephanie Chung The Lobster will be serving lobster corn dogs at Off the Hook.

This Santa Monica institution, which has stood sentinel at the mouth of the pier since 1923 (and 1999 in its current form) features glass-siding to accentuate the views, along with a seafood focus. Chef Collin Crannell cooks up fresh seafood options for brunch, lunch and dinner, including Dungeness crab enchiladas, pan seared crab cakes and a shrimp and pork belly sandwich. Sometimes his food takes a playful turn, like with the lobster corn dogs on the bar menu. The casing-free sausage showcases Maine lobster meat, lobster roe, Mexican white shrimp and pork fat for moisture’s sake.

Amazing view and delicious seafood. A little pricey for the quality though. I recommend the Hiramasa Sashimi and the Shellfish and Black Chitarra Pasta.

The restaurant has a magnificent view to the beach and Santa Monica, which is a plus, this because, it's on the first floor and located right next to Santa Monica Peer. When I went there, we stayed at the bar and had a crab salad with some wine: the food is good, as is the service, with price / quality being, more or less, what's expected.
