Urth Caffe

Urth has four locations around Los Angeles, but this one is the starlets' hangout of choice (you may even have seen it on Entourage). The focus is on the organic coffees, teas and vegan desserts, but the real point of interest is the collection of minor, medium and occasionally major celebrities who dine here…and the paparazzi parked outside to document their caffeine habits.

Venue name: Urth Caffe
Address: 8565 Melrose Ave
Los Angeles

The food here is great and drink menu does not disappoint but my favorites are their desserts!! So delicious that I think about their pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake all year long! Since it does get extremely crowded here on the weekends, I suggest getting a drink and a dessert to-go and head across the street to eat it on the rooftop of Restoration Hardware. Most gorgeous view of the hills and relaxing environment.

One of LA's hot spots! Best place to find celebs, plus the food and coffee/teas are wonderful. Large variety on the menu and the organic drinks -- must try them all.

As Alexander said, this is an LA staple! The Melrose location is my favorite as it offers a nice patio to sit on and the service is always super fast. I'm a huge fan of their salads which offer a wide selection of vegetarian options. Great for people watching as well!

I usually go to the Santa Monica location - there's a good mix of the locals and tourists who've heard about it, but overall I think it's one of those cafe/restaurants that is a must-do. At least come for the pumpkin pie (you don't even have to like pumpkin pie - you'll like this one anyway) or the lattes (matcha latte, chai latte, rooibos, etc). It's got an open air atmosphere which is great when the suns out. Not really a cafe-type place to sit in the corner and read, more of a date/small group vibe.

An LA staple, great coffee in a great atmosphere on Melrose Avenue, easy to spend an hour here watching the world go by.
