Time Out says

What was once a historic movie theater in the '20s is now a stark, concrete space with plush booths, minimal lighting and a spacious courtyard; the restaurant is a a James Beard Award winner for best restaurant design. Workshop is an elevated dining experience in the midst of a touristy stretch; the small plates are made with ingredients from local farms, most of which are within an hour of Palm Springs. Dinner is on the fancy side, but brunch is great too—try the blue crab eggs benedict.

Came here for Sunday brunch and had a horrible experience.  The food is overpriced and lacks flavor.  The mimosas were mostly orange juice.  The owner was rude and made no effort to accommodate his patrons.  We were sitting outside melting in the heat and the owner took our umbrella without saying anything to us.  After questioning him (since he offered no explanation on his own) he told us to go sit at the bar because he needed the umbrella for a large party that was coming in.  Long story short, my hubby had to talk with the hostess who sat us at a booth inside.  I can't believe an owner would treat his patrons that way.  Still totally shocked.
