Fair Trade Fashion Show

The Fair Trade Fashion Show (taking place at 800 Wilshire Boulevard between South Flower Street and Lebanon Street) redefines the aesthetic of Fair Trade Fashion while supporting artisans in the most dangerous country in the world for women. Hosted by Sica Schmitz (founder of online vegan boutique Bread & Reel) and Katie Bond (founder of sustainable fair trade nonprofit The Peace Exchange), this fundraiser benefits the women of The Peace Exchange’s non-profit sewing centers in the Congo and will focus on telling global artisans’ stories through a one-of-a-kind event celebrating fashion and filmmaking as vehicles for supporting women in marginalized communities. A great opportunity to see how fashion can be a tool for empowering both the women who make and the women who wear fair trade fashion.
