These days, Meltdown is perhaps known more for the comedy empire spawned in its back room, Nerdmelt Theater, now relocated to the neighboring storefront. Don’t let its fame as a comedy venue/podcasting powerhouse overshadow what continues to be one of the city’s largest selections of comic books. Meltdown will have just about anything you are looking for, and with their close ties to the indie and zine community, you’ll probably find something brand new too. Balancing out a significant portion of Meltdown’s 14,000-square foot floor space are vinyl toys, high-end action figures and other collectibles.

It's more than a comic shop. It's more than a pop culture nerd/geek center. It's a piece of Los Angeles. It gives people a chance to perfect their artistic niche craft, hear an amazing comedy act or panel. Yes, there's the super hero stuff, but also the comic books that are never going to be movies or tv shows that can resonate with anyone and the staff knows all about them. Super chill staff too. Not pretentious Comic Book guy from The Simpsons.
Traveled from Belgium to discover this great store. You can spend hours here strolling through comics, collectibles and so much more. I'm already looking forward to visit again!
It is my Wednesday ritual to go here and pick up my comics each week; an amazing location where you can get lost for hours!
