Japanese lifestyle brand MUJI (think: a close cousin of Hammacher Schlemmer) currently has one LA retail location in Hollywood, but this June 20, they're popping over to Santa Monica, as well. In anticipation of the new space, Venice Arts (1702 Lincoln Blvd) will host an open talk tomorrow, featuring MUJI President Masaaki Kanai and UCLA Professor Hitoshi. Moderated by Hammer Museum Director of Exhibitions and Publications Brooke Hodge, the event will provide unique insight on the experience of marrying a Japanese background and aesthetic with the international consumer market. The event is free and open to the public. Better yet, all attendees with receive a Santa Monica-themed tote bag and travel mug, on-the-house. RSVP to secure your spot here.
