When lines at Sushi Gen and long waits at Kula have you singing the sushi blues, stop into Japanese Village Plaza's Nijiya market. The pay-off: the selection is big, the prices low and the lines, non-existant. Nigiri combos are neatly presented with fresh, mix-and-match seafood. We love the eight-piece spicy tuna roll ($6.49), shrimp tempura roll ($6.29) and California roll ($5.99)—a steal for less than ten bucks. The best part? You can wander up and down the stocked aisles for traditional snacks, drinks and desserts to whet your appetite and end your meal.

A classic touristy place whenever you're in Little Tokyo, Nijiya Market has your spread of all types of Japanese imported food, snacks, and more. You really can get a bit of everything here.
It can get really crowded since it's a small store and there are tons of tourists buying things and hanging out. But if you're a local, this is a great spot for your classic Asian ingredients for lunch and dinner!
