This family-run business, a huge gourmet food and restaurant supply emporium, celebrated its 75th birthday in 2012, which makes it virtually prehistoric by LA standards. The food is as fresh and tasty as ever, and there's an upmarket café attached.

If only you could afford to create at least a gourmet meal a day...
These people really know their things when it comes to pick the not-yet exploited delicatessen and the right tools to master them: from exquisite cuts of recherché meats ( think wild pig, rabbit, and all those creatures that would make a vegetarian sign a petition on the spot), to first-class jams, to literally ANY form of spoon, whip or meat tenderizer you could possibly think of.
The charcuterie stand has the best prosciutto in the whole world( and the most expensive, too, if you ask), and they are kind enough to let you sample their different varieties of cheese etc., usually with a chunk of their perfect bread.
They have an oil bar, too, where (always accompanying with the noted bread) you can give yourself a lesson on the different acidities.
