Time Out says

A bi-level, open-air shopping center now greets visitors at what used to be a brick-fortress–like Macy’s. Though we’re still awaiting more vendors to join the storefronts next to the department store (and for the Alamo Drafthouse), the space has already seen some meaningful improvements, including a pedestrian walkway to the 7th Street/Metro Center station.

What’s on

Street Food Cinema

For dinner and a movie, all in one, just follow the food trucks. During the spring, summer and fall, Street Food Cinema throws together a series of outdoor parties that include screenings of some of our favorite movies, paired with an assortment of gourmet food trucks and even a live music performance from a cool local band. The screenings are held in venues across L.A. into October and alternate from week to week, so make sure to check the schedule. Some of the outdoor venues are dog-friendly, allowing you to bring your four-legged cinema lover along. See more of this season’s outdoor movie screenings in L.A.

BLOCtober BOOfest

The Bloc is celebrating Halloween early this year with a free, family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating, face painting and meet-and-greets with Jack Skellington. Kids can get creative with crafts and collect candy before cozying up with a cup of cider for an outdoor screening of Nightmare Before Christmas. You’ll find all the fun on the Downtown shopping center’s plaza level. You can even bring your pup in a costume (and on a leash) too. Members of the free-to-join Bloc Rewards App can grab a complimentary pumpkin from the patch, while supplies last.
