Blessing of the Animals

Led by a cow festooned with flowers, this procession of farm animals and pets (with their owners) winds its way down LA’s oldest street, where each animal is blessed with holy water. Bring Fido to the Plaza on Olvera Street and let the kids enjoy a petting zoo, free pony rides and live entertainment at this event—a local tradition every Saturday before Easter since 1930.
