Pasadena is full of architectural gems, but none more concentrated than the eight early-20th-century homes in the square-mile neighborhood of Bungalow Heaven, the city’s first landmark historic district. And since 1990, the homes have opened their doors to visitors on the last Sunday of April. The tour took a hiatus in 2025 in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, but this year, it’s back and is donating a portion of proceeds to the San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. The walking tour is self-guided, but each home will have volunteer docents on hand to explain the history and architectural highlights. The event is centered around the neighborhood’s McDonald Park (1000 E Mountain St), where you’ll find live music, fresh-baked cookies, local food trucks and a silent auction.
