In addition to housing some of the generation's finest minds, Caltech also offers the chance for laymen to stroll the grounds, as they host a variety of public events throughout the year. Take in a casual lecture on quantum computing, pop in to hear Stephen Hawking speak, or simply swing by for a bit of chamber music. You might bring the average IQ of the vicinity down a few points, but at least you'll have gotten in your mental workout for the day.
