Part vaudeville, part late-night theater, part sideshow—that's a lot of parts, we suppose. But how else can we categorize Carpe Noctis, the four-weekend-long fest that advertises itself with knife throwing and R-rated children's theater? It's a revolving door of indescribable short shows spread across four theaters at the Complex in Hollywood. Rather than buying a ticket for a particular show, you're basically paying admission to an entire night of 10–30-minute performances. Though you won't know the lineup in advance, anticipate an absolutely bananas assortment of performances: Back Alley Kung Fu, Salty + Sweet Magic Show, Oh Yes! Burlesque!, Live Game Show (For Horrible People), The Suicidal Mime, Breakdance Combat and more.
