Time Out says
Escape the traffic on La Cienega Blvd at the SLS hotel's Ciel Spa. Enter the 5,000-square-foot sanctuary, where every detail has been thought of for the ultimate day of pampering. Keep an eye out for Philippe Starck's design details, like the row of hands holding flowers along the wall. Open your locker and you'll know that everything has been thought out—there's a small drawer for personal belongings and bag provided for jewelry. Indulge in spa water and light snacks in the lounge area, the best part of which is the partioned curtions blocking off personal day beds from one another, ideal for a little escapism. Depending on your choice of treatment, your therapist will guide you to one of the five treatment rooms or couple's suite. Your esthetician starts the personalized treatment by asking you about the music selection, comfort of the bed (the custom massage beds are equipped with music technology and can fit to your body with a touch of the remote control) and explains the seven steps of the treatment. All the basic massage treatments are available here, but we suggest something a bit more advanced, like the "Le Lift Corps" body treatment, which exfoliates and lifts using sea lagae crystals followed by a body wrap, steam shower and moisturizing massage. You can also get lymphatic draining done here, as well as a number of gentle facials. (Never thought you could fall asleep to a facial? Try one at Ciel.)

The Ciel Spa continues the theme of elegance at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Recently I had the opportunity to get a blow out of my hair at this newly reopened salon.
The mostly white and mirrored Philippe Starck interiors provide a very stylish and luxurious setting to obtain a beauty treatment. Services was very good and what I really appreciated is how the service did not take an unnecessarily long time. It was a fairly quick hair wash and then a blow dry and styling.
For the past decade or so I've been mostly wash and go with my hair and I was amazed what a few great products and knowledgeable stylist could accomplish with my hair. The end result was slightly curly, big and loose - a volumized bed head type of look, which I enjoy.
Even though I had some uneven highlights in my hair, the stylist used an ombre spray to even out the color surrounding my face and gave me several usable tips on how to recreate this look on my own.
What I really enjoyed is that they set up a perfectly lit selfie station for guests to take selfies after getting their new look. I was able to take several really good reference shots of the new hairdo.
That same day I received a couple of compliments from strangers (!) and many from friends. The style held up all day and even into the next day.
