Desert Showdown

Splurge on a star-studded desert retreat for a good cause as Will Ferrell hosts the annual Desert Showdown in the Coachella Valley. You'll need pretty deep pockets to actually compete in the charity golf and tennis tournaments, but the post-event concert—with blasts from the past Nelly and Boyz II Men—and the Desert Smash are both open to the public. On the tennis court, Ferrell serves up a pro-am competition that includes tennis stars Novak Djokovic, Daniela Hantuchova, Ana Ivanovic and doubles pair the Bryan brothers along with Kevin Spacey, Kaley Cuoco, Timothy Olyphant, Jeremy Piven and Lance Bass. Snag a spot in the bleachers while there are still some available, or secure a seat on the court if that's more your style (and within your budget). All proceeds benefit Cancer for College, a non-profit that provides college scholarships for cancer survivors.
