Doo Dah Parade

  • Things to do

Time Out says

Hatched in 1978 as the anti-Rose Parade, the Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade is an anything-goes celebration of the delighfully weird. There are floats, sure, and people marching, but its similarities with humdrum processions end there. Take a look at the parade lineup and you'll see what we mean: Flying Babies Cornhole, Nordic Men and Viking Ship, Toaster Car, Cheesus Chrust Pizza Co. and Yiddish Dracula, just to name a few.

The parade steps off at 11am in East Pasadena along Colorado Boulevard between Altadena Drive and San Gabriel Boulevard. There's an official after-party at the American Legion ($5, 179 N Vinedo St) with mainstays Snotty Scotty and the Hankies performing, as well as other shindigs at PooBah Records (2636 E Colorado Blvd) and Colorado Bar (2640 E Colorado Blvd).
