Took this class to learn how to cook Indian food, and while I haven't attempted to try it at home, the class was a lot of fun! I had no idea how much goes into even the most basic Indian food and now I feel more comfortable ordering at Indian foods because I know exactly what I'm eating and what went into it. It was a great time and the instructor was very knowledgable. This is a great place for a party or a fun date night!
After one night of HipCooks I'm practically a Michelin-ranked chef. Not really, but my skills for making chicken tiki masala have drastically improved (from zero). This a great place to go for an out-of-the-box work party or birthday celebration!
My cooking skills pretty much peak at setting the dial on a toaster, but within a short amount of time at HipCooks I was confidently tasting dishes and saying, "This needs more salt,"—because as it turns out, you always need more salt. You'll learn to cook by tasting, not by measuring, which was really instructive without ever feeling too handholdy. The environment here is really fun, though the one drink per person limit is a bit of an (understandable) downer, as is the fact that you can't bring any food home—because you'll definitely be stuffed by the end of the evening thanks to all of that delicious food you've prepared.
Such a fun cooking class! We learned so much and were able to really take ownership of each dish, controlling the spice level, ingredients, etc. We were quizzed on spice and ingredient names, and the instructor totally picked up on our group's vibe and was cracking jokes all night. The only downside? Only one cocktail per class. I realize they don't want anyone slicing off a thumb, but come on! One drink per course seems more than fair to me :)
