Time Out says

Grab your best ghoul friend and maybe some equipment to fight off a zombie horde because one of horror's favorite hosts is popping up for an immersive drive-in experience—complete with appearances by the undead.

Everyone's favorite down-home horror cowboy is coming to not one but two drive-in locales this month, meaning you can catch a very Joe Bob Briggs night of cheesy and eerie movies, gore, puns and even live (but not alive) zombies at the Joe Bob Haunted Drive-In.

On October 27 and 28 you can park it in Torrance's Roadium Drive-In, while on Halloween night the event takes over the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. On all three nights you'll catch a slew of short horror films with recorded commentary from the beloved The Last Drive-In and MonsterVision host, and as the evening progresses, you might get a scare from the hungry, walking dead tapping on your car windows.

While the hosting is prerecorded, you can bet Joe Bob will be there for the first two nights—along with sidekick Darcy the Mail Girl and Sleepaway Camp star Felissa Rose—saying howdy and signing for-sale items from a safe distance.

It's all in partnership with production company Black Vortex Cinema, who'll be bringing the screams to life.

“Seeing the closures of many of our favorite Halloween events during this terrible year, we wanted to provide a safe, exciting, and scary new way to celebrate our favorite season from the comfort of our cars,” Black Vortex Cinema founder Christian Ackerman says. “And we couldn't be more excited to join forces with Joe Bob on this. His wicked humor is the perfect counterbalance to the live scares taking place within the audience."

Tickets run $99 per car, and parking is first come, first served. Check out the event's trailer, below.
