Scout out birdlife, pitch a tent and gaze at the stars, all from the friendly banks of the LA River. Clockshop and a slew of state nature agencies are introducing campers to the Bowtie Project, a Glendale Narrows industrial lot turned natural art project, during this family-friendly overnight stay.
Throughout the night, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority naturalists will lead campfire programs, the LA Astronomical Society will set up stargazing stations and a National Park Service ranger will lead a bird-watching outing. Plus, Tom Carroll from Tom Explores Los Angeles will lead a sunset tour of the area. Novice campers need not worry thanks to the California State Parks' supply of full camping set-ups.
