Masa: While not everyone is familiar with the term, most Angelenos are familiar with the final product of stone-ground nixtamalized corn in the form of tacos, tamales and more. At this free open-air food festival promoting this L.A. artisan masa brand's new cookbook, you'll find vendors selling some of the city's best masa dishes, including Ditroit Taqueria and Poncho's Tlayudas, all from Masienda's parking lot (11515 West Pico Boulevard). There will also be a book signing, live music by DJ José Galván and a kid's activity corner; the first 300 guests will also receive a free bag of heirloom corn masa harina upon check-in.
