It's not easy being green, so make your plants' lives a little happier at this hands-on art class on Saturday. L.A. illustrator Bijou Karman and Eagle Rock plant shop Folia Collective are teaming up for an early afternoon where you'll receieve a new plant for your home, then paint the pot it will live in.
It's all part of a collab series between OLIPOP and Grand Central Market, capping off a week of diversity- and wellness-focused events in and around the historic space. Tickets to the class run $65 per person and include the pot, the plant and the painting materials, not to mention bites from DTLA Cheese and some of OLIPOP's gourmet, botanic and prebiotic-packed sodas. (Artistry can work up a thirst and an appetite, obviously.)
The best part? Proceeds benefit Inner City Arts, a local org providing learning-based arts education and workshops for L.A. students aged kindergarten through college.
