This 1931 theatre has hosted everything from the Emmy Awards to "Hollywood week" on American Idol. Today, it remains Pasadena's architecturally stunning hub for eclectic, international performances.
With At the Drive-In back on ice (potentially forever), Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez are hard at work on their other project, post-hardcore kids-turned-Mahavishnu Orchestra-styled prog rockers the Mars Volta. The duo is touring behind their new album—the jazz- and electronica-influenced Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacio—including a stop at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 18, at 10am.
The beginning of 2026 will be bittersweet: January 7 marks the one-year anniversary of the Eaton and Palisades fires, though the effects are still being keenly felt. To commemorate the occasion, L.A.-based folk rockers Dawes are presenting a concert to support the Altadena Builds Back Foundation—and the lineup is pretty stellar. The band will be joined by Brandon Flowers of the Killers, Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, Mandy Moore, Brad Paisley, Jackson Browne, Aloe Blacc, Stephen Stills, Everclear and Ozomatli. Tickets start at $150 (which feels more than reasonable given the cause and the caliber of talent assembled).
