Time Out says

Watch an opera and a light installation from your car during this ocean-inspired event on the San Pedro waterfront.

The Blue Hour actually doubles as an awards show from scientific campus AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles and its educational arm, Project Blue. So the evening includes awards that’ll be presented to Titanic discoverer Dr. Robert Ballard as well as Dr. Dawn Wright, the first Black woman to dive to the ocean floor in a submersible.

As for the performance aspect, you’ll be able to see the premiere of a snippet of Mozart’s Idonmeneo from contemporary opera director Peter Sellars, as well as a light installation projected onto the side of the USS Iowa, designed by artists Mason Rothschild and Annie Sperling in collaboration with new media whiz Refik Anadol.

Tickets are a bit pricey (they start at $250 per car), but each includes two vegetarian snack boxes from San Pedro Brewing Company plus a swag bag. You’ll find the event at the massive parking lot next to the battleship.
