The Disneyland of Poop: Hyperion Water Treatment Plant

Join Obscura Society LA for a pungent tour of what it's dubbed "the crappiest place on earth," the Hyperion Water Treatment Plant (12000 Vista Del Mar). The largest treatment plant west of the Mississippi, it's an instantly recognizable sight to anyone who has set foot on Dockweiler State Beach. You'll get to experience first-hand, via foot and tram, the treatment process—and smells—of an entire city's toilet water. (Seriously, the organizers says the stench ranges from "mild to quite gross," so you've been warned.)
