With a winter storm on the way, Montreal is getting ready for snow. And lots of it.

Thanks to the city’s proximity to some of the best ski hills in the province, one of the largest tubing stations in the world and a ton of other fun outdoor activities, the incoming snowfall is great news.

But did you know that Montreal’s best parks are also a great spot for cross-country skiing, with groomed trails for miles?

Every Sunday from January 7 to February 25, Parc Raimbault is offering cross-country ski initiation lessons led by certified coaches from Ski de fond Québec.

From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. individuals aged 14 and older can enjoy a two hour ski session. The first hour is spent with an instructor and the second hour is for practicing with the equipment provided.

With all the free things to do in Montreal, these complimentary ski lessons should be at the top of your winter wish list.

Time Out tip: Make sure to register two weeks in advance!
