Adi Nes, "The Village"

Large-scale, staged color photographs by this Tel Aviv artist paint a collective portrait of a fictional Israeli village whose inhabitants live in pastoral serenity that nonetheless seems edged by a vague sense of anxiety. Given the Middle Eastern setting, it's not hard to understand why.
