Bryan Zanisnik, "Brass Arms Upper Eyelid"

Large colored photographs taken of sculptural tableaux created by the artist are featured here. Zanisnik uses personal mementos, family relics and thrift-store finds to create surreal, chaotic installations that suggest the collision of memory, desire and mass culture. Also on tap: a five-minute video filmed at Zanisnik's childhood home, starring his parents acting out Freudian encounters with the artist in different rooms of the house.
