Fresh off his recently concluded, controversial reign as director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Jeffrey Deitch hits the refresh button on a show he originally curated for this same gallery 30 years ago. The premise now is just as it was then—a look at the various threads connecting fine art, street art and Middle Eastern calligraphy. The roster is expanded to 50 works by a wide range of artists, including Jackson Pollock, Cy Twombly, Keith Haring and Hossein Zenderoudi, among others.
