Center for Historical Reenactments, "After-after Tears"

As part of its "Museum as Hub" residency program, the NewMu presents a project by this South African collective that styles itself as an "independent contemporary art platform" based in Johannesburg. The country's history, especially apartheid and its aftermath, figures prominently in its work, but since CHR declared its own "institutional death" in 2012, this show, which will evolve over the course of its run, should probably be viewed as some sort of retrospective.
