Time Out says

The violence of World War I left a significant aesthetic impression on art and culture. This group of artists, many among them Surrealists, offer prime examples of the way in which Continental Europe processed the period between the wars. Included are the works of Balthus, Giorgio de Chirico, Jean Cocteau, Otto Dix, Hannah Höch, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Pablo Picasso and August Sander.
