Time Out says

The great postwar American sculptor gets an airing in this survey of 60 works, focusing on geometric motifs in his oeuvre. An innovator in the use of welding to create sculptures in steel, Smith (1906–1965) synthesized various currents in assemblage, Surrealism and Expression, and literally put the cube into Cubism with his mid-1960s "Cubis" series, examples from which are on view here.
