Time Out says

The work of this Peruvian-born artist, who calls Berlin home, often deals with cycles of life and death, and for his New York solo debut, he focuses on the theme of "breath as the place where the soul and force of life reside." (The show's title comes from the word meaning "spirit," which itself is derived from the Greek for "air.") A video in close-up of a trumpeter sustaining a high C for as long as he can, and a exacting ceramic replica of a giant squid lying dead and deflated on the gallery floor, are just two of the pieces that make the artist's point.
