Erin Shirreff, "Day Is Long"

To date, Shirreff's specialty has been to marry photography and sculpture in a way that underscores the tricks perception plays on us as we try to make sense of form. Her work isn't trompe l'oeil in the usual sense—it's far too abstract and conceptual—but it similarly explores the unreliability of vision.
