Time Out says

The work of French painter Eugène Leroy (1910–2000) was a peculiar mix of early-modern and midcentury-modern tendencies, seemingly mashing up aspects of Post-Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism to explore the classical genres of still life, landscape and nude. His paintings are notable for their overall earthen tones and thick flurries of impasto that merged figure with ground. This show focuses on his studies of the female form.
