Francesco Vezzoli, “Sacrilegio”

Known for flashy work commenting on contemporary media, Vezzoli strikes again, this time with an installation transforming Gagosian's space into a Renaissance chapel, complete with reproductions of famous 15th- and 16th-century religious portraits, whose faces have been replaced with the likes of Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista. Also included is a video installation featuring Vezzoli and his own mother conflated with the Madonna and Child.
