DCKT are the initials of Dennis Christie and Ken Tyburski, who founded their space in Chelsea in 2003, before moving five years later to the ground zero of the LES artquake: the stretch along Bowery near the New Museum. DCKT's program ranges from painting and sculpture to video and photography, and its stable includes such interesting names as Exene Cervenka, former vocalist for legendary L.A. punkers X, and Cordy Ryman, son of Minimalist painting pioneer Robert Ryman.
