Time Out says

The nadir of the AIDS crisis, when government indifference to the disease sparked activists' outrage, is recalled in this exhibit focusing on the efforts of one such group: Gran Fury. Taking their name from the Chrysler Plymouth model used for NYPD squad cars, this band of artists created public art projects—videos, posters, billboards—to raise awareness of the scourge, and put pressure on public health officials. The show covers the period of their activities between 1987 and 1995.
