The names of fashion designers raised in the Catholic faith is almost too numerous to list, so suffice to say that fashion has taken many style cues from the Church’s propensity for ritual drama and flair. For this show, papal robes and accessories from the Sistine Chapel sacristy will be on view in the Anna Wintour Costume Center, while religiously inspired fashions will be installed in The Met's Medieval and Byzantine galleries, as well as at The Met Cloisters.
